A clearer brief.

Use this pool removal checklist before contacting a contractor in the Columbia area. You can start with approximate details and mark anything you do not know.
Gather the details
you already have.
- Location: property address, ZIP code and any known jurisdiction or access restrictions.
- Pool: approximate length, width and depth, plus concrete, fiberglass or vinyl construction if known.
- Photos: the full pool, surrounding deck and route from the street. Photograph from a safe position; do not enter a damaged pool.
- Equipment route: gate width if known, fences, steps, slopes, overhead obstructions and nearby structures.
- Removal preference: complete removal, partial fill-in, or help comparing both.
- Future use: lawn, garden, patio or a future building. Mention this before the contractor chooses a scope.
- Timing: preferred start date and whether you are gathering information or ready to compare proposals.
Our enquiry form accepts up to three JPG, PNG or WebP photos, up to 4 MB each. Leave uncertain details as unknown rather than guessing.
Ask for a quote
you can compare.
Request a written description of demolition boundaries, decking, utility work, hauling, disposal, drainage, backfill, compaction, approvals and the final surface.
- Which items are excluded or priced separately?
- Who confirms permits and coordinates inspections?
- What happens if equipment cannot use the planned route?
- How are changes approved before extra charges are incurred?
- Who repairs fences, driveways or landscaping affected by access?
- What completion records will you receive?
Ask the contractor for appropriate credentials and insurance information, and verify them before hiring. A referral is not a guarantee of a contractor’s work.
